Coming back after you disappeared
I have disappeared from this for two weeks before.
Then I came back and wrote one line.
Had lunch.
Nothing happened.
There was no broken streak. No message telling me I had failed. No quota to catch up on.
Three is not a rule.
Some days I can write ten wins. I shipped something with AI, solved a problem, burned through tokens, spent time with my daughter, and still remembered to eat lunch.
Other days are shorter.
Woke up.
Got through court.
Answered the lawyers.
That is the whole record.
When I was dealing with creditors, liquidators, court appointments, and panic attacks, gratitude recordings sometimes helped interrupt what was happening in my head. But even something helpful can start to feel like another obligation when you are struggling.
I did not need another thing to fail at.
Later, when I was productive again, the problem looked different. I could spend all day building, testing, chasing ideas, and hitting quotas, then reach the evening convinced I had done nothing.
So I wrote down what happened.
Not everything.
Just whatever still mattered when I stopped.
That is why disappearing does not ruin this.
The Twitter account I used years ago was technically public, but nobody knew who I was. This is private. There are no followers waiting for an update and no one asking where I went.
I do not owe the record consistency.
It is there when I need it.
If I miss a day, nothing happens.
If I miss two weeks, nothing happens.
I can come back, write one more, and leave again.
It still counts.
